The Mountain State may soon allow ride share businesses

Companies like Uber and Lyft which allow citizens to sell rides in their personal vehicles have grown in popularity. The proposed bill would set the standards that drivers within the state have to follow. These standards include insurance regulations, drug and alcohol use, and nondiscrimination policies. These non-discrimination policies ended similar legislation last year, when the conservative legislature opposed a provision designed to protect gay, lesbian and transgender passengers. The legislation passed the House of Delegates and will now go before the Senate.
