John “J.C.” Dixon, age 76, of Hazard, KY passed away on Feb. 17, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Luther Dixon and the late Oma Eversole Dixon. His wife, Geraldine “Mouse” Dixon, survives him. Services will be at 11AM Sat. Feb. 20, 2016 at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Dana Feltner.

Reva Maxine Edwards, age 93, of Hazard, KY passed away on Feb. 18, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Burkhart and the late Lillie Ester Hunley Burkhart. Her husband Rufus W. Edwards also precedes her in death. Services will be at 1PM Sunday Feb. 21, 2016 at Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel with Rev. Butch Pennington & Mitch Fields.

Swanee Penix, age 91, of Wittensville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at her home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Jones-Preston Funeral Home.

Carl Slone, age 74, of Hindman, KY, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home. He was born in Hollybush, KY on November 22, 1941 to the late Ellis and Teney Slone. His Wife Dorotha Slone survives him. Services for Carl Slone will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.

Recca Lynn Sexton, 47 of Hi Hat, KY, passed away February 18, 2016 at Hazard ARH. Born September 28, 1968 in Whitesburg, KY, she was the daughter of Claude Collins of Whitesburg, KY and Emma Spears Bentley of Hi Hat, KY. Her husband, David Sexton, survives Recca. services will be conducted Sunday February 21, 2016 at 2pm at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin with Old Regular Baptist officiating.
