Yesterday evening 44 year old Kelly Vanderpool of Gunlock was traveling along Route 542. According to a Kentucky State Police Report, he lost control of his vehicle, and overturned into the creek. Magoffin County Coroner, Mark Jenkins, declared Vanderpool dead at the scene. The official report says that he was not wearing a seat belt, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
