A biblical museum is coming to Pike Co.

Friday, Pikeville officials announced the opening of a temporary biblical exhibit which will feature 200 artifacts from ancient Israel, Jordan, Syria and Egypt. These artifacts are as old as 5,000. UPike is teaming up with the city of Pikeville to bring the museum to the city. Officials are hoping the exhibit will draw in more people to their city, especially given the religious values the city holds. It is set to open in January of next year. Bran Wood, an archaeologist, will come to Pikeville to speak about the museum the final weekend of April. The Mayor of Pikeville hopes to have the process of renovating done and finished by early fall.
