UPDATE***
Around 1:00 on Thursday on Highway 421, officials think the car was traveling north toward Hyden, and the coal truck, traveling south toward Harlan when they crashed on the median. Names have not been released to the public as of yet, but officials say the operator of the car, a woman, was killed. Police do not believe drugs, nor alcohol were a factor in this crash. Police ask that if you are out and about to drive in your best defense, use caution on roads with curves, and pay attention to your surroundings.
Highway 421 was shut down for several hours while Kentucky State Police looked into the reason 2 vehicles collided on Highway 421 nearly a quarter mile east of the 221 intersection yesterday, the crash involved a tractor trauler truck, and a passenger car, the person in the car was the one who died.
