In June of 2015 John Hunter Krise was arrested at his home following a search warrant during which investigators found sexually explicit photographs showing young children in several different sex acts. They also found devices that held numerous text messages between Krise and several male juveniles. He pleaded guilty in Fayette County court and, according to a release, openly admitted in being involved in these crimes. He pleaded guilty to two counts of Sexual Abuse By a Parent, Guardian, Custodian or Person in a position of Trust in Relation to a Minor Child, two Counts of Soliciting a Minor via Computer, and two counts of Possession, Distribution or Display of Child Pornography.
