Letcher County students get a lesson in good oral hygiene

Health officials from “Making Smiles Happen Surveillance Initiative” brought a free health clinic for students of Letcher County Elementary  to convey the importance of good oral health.   Dr. Title says it was only to collect data bringing in more programs and sources for oral hygiene in Kentucky.  Officials say these kinds of screening are going at at 60 schools across the state for collection of of data. Dr. Tritle says the last data screening was 15 years ago. He also says there isn’t enough focus statewide focusing on the importance of good oral health.
