All details are currently not known, however officials say the child was hit in a subdivision in Harlan County. Not long before 5 pm, they got the call. They say the child was riding an electric scooter. People in the community say it is not uncommon to see children play in the streets but never thought they would see what they saw Sunday. No charges have been filed, and officials do not believe  that either alcohol or drugs are suspected to have played a role. Officials did take a blood sample to be sure. Officials are encouraging parents to keep an eye on their children as the weather heats up, and people are outside more. The child was taken to ARH then flown to UK Medical where he was last stated in critical condition.
