Asplundh Employee Electrocuted in Breathitt County, later dies

According to a Press Release from KSP, we’ve just received word an employee with Asplundh Tree Expert Company died yesterday morning after being electrocuted while trimming a tree in Breathitt County.  Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call at around 9:40 a.m., advising of the incident in the Whick community.  Troopers responded to the scene along with Arrowmed Ambulance, Wolfcoal Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, and American Electric Power.  Upon arrival, investigators located the victim, 23 year old Justin Miller of Lost Creek Road in Perry County, still in the tree.  According to witnesses at the scene, Miller was cutting tree limbs when he somehow made contact with a power line.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Breathitt County Coroner George Griffith.       An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on the victim in Frankfort at the Medical Examiner’s Office.
