After being pulled over for driving under the influence, Jamie Varney’s vehicle rolled backwards and collided with Deputy Gary McCoy’s cruiser. He was then taken to the hospital after his arrest. Officials say in an article to WYMT that while at the hospital, Varney became irate, upset and combative. Varney is facing numerous charges in addition to assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.  Officials state Deputy McCoy is okay, his vehicle sustained only minor damage.
