Laurel Lake is a popular place people have been said to go to dive off rocks. According to an article from WYMT, Whitley County Emergency Management Director Danny Moses says Anderson and his friend hiked a bath to get to the cliffs but later realized they were on the wrong side and decided to swim across the water. Moses says halfway across in about 28 feet of water, Anderson went under and his friend tried to save him. The family of the victim waited as search crews ultimately found his body. The emergency management director wants to remind everyone to wear a life jacket when diving.
