An inmate that escaped from Big Sandy Regional Detention Center has been found.

According to an article from WYMT, David Smalltown is back in custody after officials say he walked right out of the front door of the jail.Pete Fitzpatrick tells WYMT that his officers not following the proper protocol is what lead to Smalltown’s escape. Smalltown claimed to be another inmate who happened to be getting out on bond. Deputies realized their mistake shortly after Smalltown left.
