Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate for July 2016 dipped to 4.9 percent from a revised 5 percent in June 2016, according to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. The preliminary July 2016 jobless rate was 0.4 percentage points lower than the 5.3 percent rate recorded for the state in July 2015. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for July 2016 was 4.9 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
