Martin County Water Leaks Lead to School Closing

Water issues have lead to the temporary closing of two Martin County schools, reports WYMT. Martin County Water District officials sent out a boil water advisory for several areas, and Superintendent Larry James said two schools in the county had no water. Leaks in the pipes were the cause for the boil water advisory in the Warfield, Beauty, Hode, and Meat House areas. Water is being turned off in these areas overnight while maintenance is conducted to repair the leaks. John Mills with the water district said pipes need to be replaced in those areas for a permanent fix, but would cost the county or water district millions of dollars they do not have. If you have information on a leak, call the Martin County Water District at 606-298-3885.
