WYMT reports a Laurel County couple has been charged with murder and child abuse. Jessica Nicely, 31, has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of first degree criminal abuse for a child 12 or under and her husband, Gary, age 34, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of first degree criminal abuse for a child 12 or under. Their 7-week old daughter Mia died at Kentucky Children’s Hospital last week with “non-accidental inflicted trauma” according to a preliminary autopsy report. Her twin sister, Mya, also had injuries. They will be arraigned on the charges Friday September 10^th, with a preliminary hearing on the murder charge scheduled for next week.
