Tree Seedlings Available from Division of Forestry

From the Associated Press, Kentuckians planning to plant trees can order seedlings from the state’s Division of Forestry. Over 50 species of trees are available, such can white oak, dogwood, bald Cyprus, and many more. The seedlings will begin shipping from January through April and sold in bundles of 10, 50, or 100 with prices ranging from $35 to $95 per bundle. 1 million acres in Kentucky could benefit tree planting to improve wildlife habitats and protect from soil erosion. Urban areas were said to benefit as well by providing privacy and reducing heat, dust, and noise.
