Conn Whistleblower Suit Heads to Trial before Criminal Case

The whistleblower case against Eric C. Conn will go to trial before his criminal case, WYMT reports. U.S. District Judge Amul Thapar denied requests to delay the proceedings until the criminal trial was over, which is currently scheduled to begin June 5, 2017. Conn’s attorneys and Government prosecutors asked Judge Thapar to delay the whistleblower case as the litigation may interfere with the criminal case, but Thapar would not delay the case further, which originated in 2011. The whistleblower suit was filed by Jennifer Griffith and Sarah Carver in an attempt to bring light to the actions of Conn and his associates with defrauding the Social Security Administration.
