The Associated Press reports Governor Matt Bevin is moving forward with awarding $100 million for workforce training projects across the state. Bevin and legislative leaders appointed a committee to review 114 proposals for the training programs; 91 were approved to submit formal applications. Bevin vetoed a law passed by the state legislature on how the money would be spent and developed his own criteria, for which House Speaker Greg Stumbo sued. Bevin is said to largely be following the criteria lawmakers approved with the exception of not having the money evenly distributed across Kentucky’s six congressional districts.
