Ashland is looking to bring food trucks to the city, but a city ordinance currently prohibits the sales on public property, WSAZ reports. City leaders met Thursday to discuss the matter of food truck sales, which is favored by the community, but expressed concern about effecting the business of traditional restaurants. The ordinance, if passed, would be amended to keep food trucks parked a specific distance from restaurants. Vendors and city leaders discussed opportunities to partner with businesses to make dining more convenient. Before guidelines are submitted to city council, the Department of Economic Development plans to meet with traditional restaurant management in town.
