Emergency Declaration Waives Service Hours for Gas Delivery Drivers

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Greg Thomas issued an emergency declaration exempting hours of service regulations for commercial vehicle operators delivering fuel. The order comes after a leak was discovered in a Colonial pipeline in Alabama, which has disrupted the distribution of gasoline throughout the southeast. The waiver applies only to those delivering fuel and exempts them of the currently imposed service hours for the transportation of gasoline and diesel fuel. Drivers must have a copy of the Declaration in the cab of their vehicle. The emergency declaration will remain in effect until 12:01 a.m. October 5, 2016.
