Lawyers Seek to Recover Legal Fees/Costs from Rowan Gay Marriage Cases

The Associated Press reports the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky says lawyers for the couples seeking to be issued marriage licenses in Rowan County are seeking to recover more than $233,000 in legal fees and costs. Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was the subject of a class action lawsuit when she refused to issue marriage licenses after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled same-sex couples could marry. The case was later dismissed after the state changed marriage license forms so clerks names would not have to appear.
