From WYMT, seven horses have been rescued in Johnson County. After three horses were found shot earlier this month, animal rescue organizations from across the state were called in by the Johnson County Sheriff’s office to assist in moving the horses to a safer location. Dumas Rescue, Sadie’s Place, Kentucky Human Society Equine Care, and several volunteers assisted in the rescue. Debbie Hinkle with Dumas Rescue said the horses will be vetted and trained now that they are safe. The horses will be held for 14 days before they can be adopted.
