Hyden city leaders were surprised by a donation of land, according to WYMT. Lewis Biggerstaff contacted Carol Joseph, Mayor of Hyden, and to inform her of his donation of 96 acres of land, valued at nearly $200,000. The city is looking to use the land for tourism, hoping to get a Trail Town certification, something that has been worked toward for several months. The hope is that the tourism opportunities the land brings will increase the economy. If the Trail Town passes, the land will be used for kayaking, horseback riding, and an ATV trail.
