Chamber Luncheon with the Center for Rural Development

The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce held a network luncheon meeting on Tuesday, September 13 to discuss business and community opportunities provided through The Center for Rural Development. Delany Stephens, Community Liaison & Youth Programs Coordinator at The Center, spoke at the luncheon, noting their mission is to provide leadership and training that stimulates economic development and innovation in the region. Stephens stated The Center deems youth as the next generation of community and entrepreneurial leaders. He thinks it’s important to give students opportunities to reach their potential and make a difference, adding “If a student becomes involved and active in a community – that student is much more likely to remain a resident in that community.”
