Trooper Won’t be Indicted in July Deadly Shooting

A Kentucky State Police trooper will not be indicted for a July deadly shooting. According to WYMT, after responding to a complaint, Trooper Jonathan Rouse shot and Killed John A. Casey on July 31, 2016. Casey had an outstanding warrant and fled into the woods. He reportedly taunted and threw rocks at the trooper, before reaching into his pocket for a silver object, which Trooper Rouse feared was a weapon, and shot Casey. The grand jury found Trooper Rouse used justifiable force.
