Thapar on Trump’s List of Supreme Court Nominees

A Kentucky judge is on Trump’s list of nominees for U.S. Supreme Court. The highest court in the land has had a vacancy since the death of Justice Antonin Scalia earlier this past February, and Trump released his list of ten possible nominations if he wins the presidency, which includes U.S. District Judge Amul Thapar. Thapar serves the Eastern District of Kentucky and sits in Pikeville, London, and Covington. Thapar’s friend and Covington-based attorney Benjamin Dusing told Cincinatti.com that he wasn’t sure how Thapar came to Trump’s attention, but that the judge has a “federalist judicial outlook, which tends to be affiliated more with Republican political philosophies.”
