Johnson County School Board Approves Chromebook Purchase

The Johnson County Board of Education approved the purchase of  several Chromebooks as part of initiative to bring technology to each student and teacher in Johnson Central High School and Johnson County Middle School. The program will be funded through KETS, school instructional funds, annual technology fees, and an annual senior buyout, which is to begin with the 2017-18 school year. The annual technology fee will decrease each year, and the senior buyout will effectively place no additional cost on the district. The use of the Google operating system was said to also be more secure for users. According to KVEC, this will be their largest roll out of work stations for students to take home.
