Two Floyd County Schools Win Regional Attendance Competition

Floyd County Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb is happy to announce that two schools in the district are Regional High Attendance Day winners: Allen Central High and John M. Stumbo Middle. High Attendance Day was a statewide competition held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Allen Central High’s attendance on September 20th was 98.12%, competing in the Small High School category. Stumbo, competing in the Small Middle School category, had 100% attendance. The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel sponsors the competition, highlighting the importance of school attendance. A $500 cash prize is awarded to the winner in each category. Superintendent Webb commented, “We want kids to be in school more so they will have more opportunities to learn and to be academically successful.”
