Signal Repair at Island Creek Bridge Set for Tuesday, October 11

Highway District 12’s signal crew will be working to install new parts for the signals at the Island Creek Bridge and US 23 south of Pikeville. Keith Coleman, signal crew supervisor, said traffic will be reduced to one lane on US 23 at the site of the bridge for most of the day on Tuesday. Also, traffic will not be able to make a left turn from US 23 North onto the bridge. According to Coleman, this set of signals has had lingering issues, with the parts to repair them only recently arriving. He would asks drivers to slow down in the work area as people and equipment will be on the roadway, urging caution to keep everyone safe. Weather permitting, they look to finish the work in one day.
