Big Sandy Community and Technical College will hold a workshop to assist students, prospective students, parents and/or guardians with the FAFSA process from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Tuesday, October 18 in the atrium on the Pikeville campus. This year, the federal government moved the FAFSA filing date to begin October 1 to better align with college admissions season. Jimmy Wright, dean of student services, said it is important that students and/or prospective students file their FAFSA as early as the can to receive such first-come, first-serve grants as the College Access Program, or CAP, grant.
