Pikeville Medical Center’s rapid growth has led to the hiring of the organization’s 3,000^th employee. This important milestone was reached on Monday, October 10,  when Judy Lawson joined PMC as an information systems project manager. Lawson said she was “shocked and happy to be the three-thousandth employee. Everyone wants to be employed at PMC because it has a reputation for doing everything first class.” PMC is the region’s largest employer and has added 930 jobs since January 1, 2016. President and CEO Walter May said people are traveling further for healthcare from Pikeville Medical Center, adding “We will continue increasing our number of employees to meet the demand for our services.”
