Governor Bevin Asks Judge to Reverse Decision on UofL Board of Trustees

Governor Matt Bevin’s attorneys have asked Franklin Circuit Judge Phillip Shepherd to reverse the ruling he made last month which banned the governor from abolishing and replacing the University of Louisville board of trustees. Stephen Pitt, an attorney representing Bevin, said the judge inaccurately cited previous court rulings to form his decision. Attorney General Andy Beshear’s lawyers said the judge was correct, but Judge Shepherd said he would consider the arguments and issue a ruling soon. The ruling will allow additional time for both sides to appeal.
