Man Arrested After ATV Crash in Knox County

On October 17, at approximately 7:00 Knox County Deputy Sheriff Claude Hudson was dispatched to the Barbourville ARH Emergency Room regarding ATV accident victims. After arriving at the ARH, Deputy Hudson learned that Derick Lee Roark was operating an ATV with two 8-year-old children riding on the ATV as passengers and that Roark was under the influence. One of the children suffered a broken leg and was transported to UK Medical Center, while the other was not injured. 27-year-old Derick Lee Roark of Girdler was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and two counts of wanton endangerment 2nd degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
