Kentucky will be receiving nearly $900,000 in grant funding as part of the U.S. Department of Labor’s $50 million in grant awards to help expand apprenticeship opportunities across the country. The proposal calls for a workforce pipeline to be created in Kentucky, increasing the number of Registered Apprentices, across multiple demographics, by 1,300 individuals. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the grant initiative is intended to help states advance Registered Apprenticeship as a workforce development strategy and support statewide apprenticeship strategies to engage industry and meet demand for new programs.
