A Prestonsburg man was arrested Monday morning in West Virginia for allegedly assaulting a woman with a screwdriver. The incident occurred around 8:30am October 24 after Mingo County Deputies received a call a man had attacked a woman. Deputy Allen Mounts responded to the scene but the man, identified as Zachary Hicks, 29, of Prestonsburg, had already left. He was arrested and charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, and malicious wounding. The victim was said to have non-life threatening injuries. Hicks was lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail with bail set at $14,000.
