Kentucky is five days away from the start of open enrollment for Qualified Health Plans on the federal marketplace healthcare.gov. Currently, about 84,000 Kentuckians have a current QHP purchased on the exchange. The transition is expected to save Kentucky at least $10 million each year in operating costs. An item of note is that premiums on the exchange are increasing by more than 20 percent. All current plans are valid through December 31, 2016. The open enrollment period will be from November 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017. You must enroll by December 15, 2016 for coverage to begin January 1, 2017.
