Perry County Man Arrested After Stand-Off With KSP

A Perry County man was arrested early Thursday morning after an hours long barricade confrontation with Kentucky State Police. Troopers were initially called to a residence on Greenbriar Court, in the Bonnyman community, for a disturbance complaint. Callers advised that 29 year old Joshua Neace of Bonnyman was shooting in the neighborhood, causing safety concerns in the area. Responding Troopers were unable to locate Neace at that time.

He was later reported to be at his residence, at around 10pm. Troopers attempted to get Neace out of the home to speak with them, but he refused to comply. He made threats to the Troopers, then began firing shots from inside his home, at which time neighbors were evacuated from the scene for their safety. He exchanged gunfire with police over the course of several hours. KSP’s Special Response Team was activated and responded to the scene, subduing Neace with tear gas and tasers. He is lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on charges of Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, with additional charges to follow.
