Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles announced Thursday that five Kentucky County Fairs were awarded grants totaling more than $455,000 from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for fairgrounds construction and remodeling. The grants will go to the fair boards of Nelson, Harrison, Hancock, and Clinton counties, as well as the Isom Day Festival Committee. Each grant will fund 75 percent of the total cost of the project. Each project must be started within 90 of the date the project was awarded and must be completed within nine months.
