Kentucky Emergency Management Continues to Monitor Wildfires

Kentucky Emergency Management, along with several local and state agencies, continue to monitor the wildfires across Kentucky and coordinate support to the Kentucky Division of Forestry. The state has deployed nearly 500 personnel to assist in the impacted areas. Efforts are being made to offer assistance as needed. The Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross has five shelters on standby in the following locations: Harlan Baptist Church in Harlan County, Four Mile Fire Station in Bell, First Baptist Church in Knox County, Pike Methodist Church in Pike, and Blackey Senior Citizen Center in Letcher County.
