A Perry County man was fatally injured after crashing an ATV early Sunday morning. Kentucky State Police responded to Balls Fork Road in the Ary community of Perry County after a 911 call came in advising of the incident. Fisty Fire Department and Perry County EMS assisted at the scene. The preliminary investigation determined that James Christopher Tyler Fugate, 21 of Ary, was operating a 2016 Polaris Razor 1000 on Balls Fork Road when he lost control going around a curve. The vehicle overturned, throwing Fugate over an embankment. He was transported to Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. A toxicology report is pending and Fugate was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
