Laurel Woman Arrested for Public Intoxication

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman in the early hours of November 5. Deputy Shawn Jackson was dispatched to Hopkins Cemetery Road following a complaint of a woman acting strange and confused. Jenny Mills, 42 of Barbourville, was standing in the roadway at the intersection with Echo Valley Road. She was said to have had slurred speech, was unsteady, and appeared under the influence, admitting to taking Neurotin. Deputy Jackson noted that she was very disoriented and did not know her name or where she was. Mills was charged with public intoxication-controlled substance and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
