A Greenup County long-term care facility has taken home the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities coveted facility of the year trophy for 2016. More on the story from Richard Farmer.
Oakmont Manor of Flatwoods is the facility of the year in the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities’ Statewide Quality Awards competition. The eighty-five bed nursing home was recognized for its relaxing environment, personal touches like allowing residents to bring furniture from home and community projects like providing school supplies for a local day care. Administrator Shanna Carter says the award is a great honor, moreso because it will be unique as the last year they are doing the traditional Facility of the Year award. This year’s director of nursing is Oakmont Manor’s Crystal Fizer and the administrator of the year is Melissa Sparks of Hyden Health and Rehab.
