Floyd County Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb is pleased to announce that four Floyd County teachers recently achieved National Board Certification. The teachers are Michelle Bragg, 4^th and 5^th grade math teacher at Prestonsburg Elementary; Mary Slone, 9^th through 12^th grade language arts teacher at South Floyd; Susan Tackett, 5^th grade language arts and social studies teacher at Osborne Elementary; and Tina Williams, 6^th through 8^th grade math teacher at Allen Elementary. The goal of the process is to advance the quality of teaching and learning and teachers have up to three years to complete the certification process. Dr. Webb said he and the board are proud of the teachers for their certification as it shows their dedication to strengthening instruction.
