Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead was notified of multiple collisions on the Mountain Parkway in Powell County around 9am Wednesday. Multiple vehicles collided at the 34 mile marker resulting in the death of a Breathitt County man. Charles Turner, age 65, of Jackson was pronounced deceased by the Powell County Coroner at the scene. It was determined that the heavy smoke from the recent wildfires played a factor in the collisions. The collisions remain under investigation by KSP.
