The National Weather Service in Jackson and Louisville have issued a Red Flag Warning for the southeastern portion of Kentucky. A Red Flag Warning is a forecast warning issued by the National Weather Service to inform area firefighting and land management agencies that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures will create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread.
