Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Knox County

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies made a drug arrest Wednesday. Assisted by the Laurel County Sheriff’s K-9 Handler Deputy Grigsby, Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith, several deputies and Commonwealth Attorney Jackie Steele conducted a search at the residence of Bill and Brittany Deaton on Scott Branch Road near Girdler. A large quantity of Oxycontin and Xanax tablets were located. Brittany Deaton, 24, was arrested and charged with 1st degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Bill Deaton, 45, was arrested later and charged with 1st degree Trafficking, and trafficking in Marijuana. A red 2011 Chevy Camaro and $300 cash were also seized. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
