The Pikeville Police Department would like to alert the public of two possible scams in the area. The first is a phone call claiming to be a relative in jail. They give you the name of one of your relatives and say they’re in need of cash for bail. It is advised that receivers hang up and report it to the police if they continue to call. The second is a white male in his fifties with brownish gray hair approaching people, claiming to be a neighbor, having car trouble or needing a tow truck and asking to borrow cash from them.
