While on early patrol in the Middlesboro area Saturday morning, Bell County Deputy Nick Capps drove past a black Toyota Truck, noticing the driver appeared to be asleep. The driver, 32 year old Gary Baker, appeared to be passed out and Deputy Capps made several attempts to wake him. When asked if he was okay, Baker said he had smoked crystal meth. Upon exiting the vehicle, Deputy Capps noticed a plastic wrapper with Xanax pills, a scale, and a glass pipe with white residue. A red clear plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine was also found. Baker is charged with DUI and possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
