At 4:40pm December 22, Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call from Fleming County Dispatch to assist with the discovery of human remains. Kentucky State Police responded to Cemetery Lane in Flemingsburg and located the human remains in a near-by wooded area. Fleming County Coroner Winston Grannis removed the remains and will transport them to the Kentucky State Police Central Laboratory in Frankfort for identification. The death remains under investigation by Detective Nathan Shortridge.
