Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond is investigating a shooting that happened in the early morning hours of December 22. KSP Post 7 was called just after 3am in reference to a shooting that took place at a residence on Moran Summit Road in Madison County. The initial investigation indicated Phillip “Chris” Sanders was shot following an altercation inside the residence and taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital with serious injuries. The alleged shooter, Patrick Coleman, Jr., left the scene after the altercation, and was taken into custody just before 8:30am. Coleman is charged with assault 1st degree and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
